Many of us confront fear and emotional situations on regular and often daily basis. And for the most part, many of us are able to maintain our stress levels at a functionable level. In those cases, stress is dealt with on a healthy level.
But when your fear and emotions become paralyzing, that is when trouble begins. And if you are in a constant state of fear, this becomes a new normal for you. And that’s when everything starts to break down.
Let’s think about this on a microanatomical level in the body. Because honestly, most disease states start here whether you want to admit it or not. When your body is healthy and you are handling stress, fear and emotions all in stride, things are usually going well and the body remains healthy.
But stress, whether is comes in the form of fear or even if it is external, triggers the negative hormones in the body designed to facilitate you in the fight or flight mechanism. This is all great in short periods of time as it is designed to give you what your body needs to deal with the current stress level. It is a survival reflex build into us all! Usually in these times, it will increase the heart rate, blood pressure and give you more energy like a shot of glucose so your body can do what it needs to survive.
This mechanism is designed to be very short term and will relax when the stress factors have passed. Then life resumes as normal. The hormones that regulate this response are epinephrine (adrenalin), cortisol and norepinephrine
The problem is, this mechanism does not differentiate between different kinds of stress and if you are in a prolonged period of stress, with no relief, these stress hormone can continue to pump into your system with no relief. What happens is the body becomes used to this state and it can only maintain that state for so long before something gives out. When it gives out, it can come in many forms including; burnout, paralyzing fear, anxiety & depression, and even illness or chronic disease.
For those stuck in this prolong stress, it becomes hard to know how to get out. The paralyzing fear keeps you stuck and with no way out, the body just starts to break down.
Only you can control that stress. But often you need to learn new skills. Once such skill can be some techniques as founded through Natural BioEnergetics. Doing what is called an emergency Stress release can be something that is self-performed regularly to help you gain back that control. And learning better skills at controlling that stress will come with time.
